David Porter was a passionate student musician at Cal-State Chico in the early 2010s. His friends back then talked about his creativity and his knack in finding interesting ways to educate himself beyond the curriculum. But like many liberal arts students before him, he couldn’t find a job after graduation that matched his passion. Since he’d been interested in coding and building applications, he decided it would be a good time to give it a try. Porter ended up applying to App Academy in 2015 and within a year, picked up enough quality coding skills to lead him to a new life opportunity.
